The first chapter of "Mithra: The Calling" is now released

We are honored to announce that the first chapter of "Mithra: The Calling", the first episode of our action adventure series, Mithra, is now released for XBOX360. Mithra is being developed and released in an episodic fashion, and this is the first chapter of Episode 1 of the series.

You can try the game through the XBOX Live Marketplace here. You can find the game under the title "Mithra, Episode 1, Chapter 1" in the Community Games section of your XBOX360.

Join Tag in a mysterious adventure set in the bizarre world of planet Gi! Mithra is an action-adventure game full of fun puzzles to solve, new places to explore, interesting story to uncover, and lots of characters to meet.

The game looks great guys! I just played through the trial and it's by far the best looking, and "complete" Community Game yet! I'll be buying the full game soon. Any word on when we can expect future episodes?

Thanks ShawnS. That's great. We've almost produced most of chapter 2. It only takes us a while to apply the feedbacks from players in this chapter, make some improvements and probably add some puzzles to increase the time of gameplay. Hopefully it will be ready in two months.

Yeah the game looks really nice. And the gameplay style reminds me of Dreamfall.

I'm a bit hesitant to buy though, for a few reasons. For one, the games length. The demo takes like 4 minutes tops. How long is the whole chapter? Also the idea that theres three chapters in this episode and presumably in all the other ones, that's like $75 all together. And another issue would be that I have no idea how soon other chapters/episodes will be out. With that many chapters/episodes, there also seems like a bit of danger of the releases stopping before the end.

Thanks Eric for the comment. you're right, the trial time is short, though we were thinking that it's probably enough to convince everyone to buy the game! Apparently we were wrong. We will increase the trial time in the next release (free to update) soon. Regarding the game length, we think that on average it takes around 2 to 3 hours to finish this chapter for the first time (unless you're an adventure hardcore player then it might take shorter). Also we're already thinking on our pricing system to see how we can make it more affordable in the long term. I can assure you that we will take appropriate measures to eliminate this concern as soon as possible. Meanwhile, we all hope that you buy the game and enjoy it.

I bought and finished the chapter. I saw someone was asking about it in the forum for it on Xbox.com so I wrote out my opinions there:

The demo reminded me of the old Zork games and so I took a bite. The puzzles are fun and the graphics are good. However, the length is way too short for 400 points--two hours is generous. Unless the next chapter is a lot longer(at least 10 hours), I can't see myself shelling out another 400 points with no acheivements and virtually no replay value.
